Why does my domain still points to the old IP after I changed my host record? Most nameservers cache domain name information. If you request the address for www.yourname.com and then change the IP address in the A record for www.yourname.com, your ISP's nameserver will already have cached the information from the previous request. Until your ISP's nameserver expires the information, it will continue to appear to point to the old IP address.
