Why would I want to set up CNAMEs instead of A records?
Using CNAMEs will save time when managing several domains pointing to the same server. A webserver within the domain mydomain.com may be named snoopy. When the IP for snoopy changes, the administrator changes snoopy's A record and that's it! "www.mydomain.com" simply points to "snoopy.mydomain.com" so there are no other changes to make. It saves time when you have 30 or 40 domains CNAMEd to one A record.See Also:
