Top: Service Renewal

What happens when my domain name expires?

When the domain expires, the nameservers and contact information of the domain will be changed to Directnic's settings. A Directnic parking page will resolve online, which will include a link for the previous registrant to renew the domain.

for generic Top level domains, .TV and .US domains, during the first 30 days of our 40 day holding period, the previous registrant will be able to renew the domain through their Directnic account. If the domain has not been renewed by day 30 after expiration, then the domain may be sold at auction by Directnic in the last 10 days of our 40 day holding period.

For full details on our Expired Domain Name Policy, please refer to Section 8. Expired Domains of http://www.directnic.com/legal/policy.php

If the domain is neither renewed or sold at auction by Directnic during the 40 day holding period, then the domain will be released to the central registry where it will enter Redemption Period status.

For all other country level domains, please check with the corresponding registry for their renewal policies.
