How do I set up my email in Windows Live Mail?

  1.  In Windows Live Mail, click the blue menu button in the top left hand corner of the tool bar.  From the drop-down menu that appears, select Options and then Email accounts.

 

  1. Select Add from the Accounts menu that pops up:

 

  1. Select Email Account and click Next.

  1. Select Manually configure server settings, and fill in the Email Address, Password and Display Name fields with the following information:

Email Address: Your Email Address

Password: The password you created when you created the Email Account.  Please note that this is not necessarily the same as your Directnic Dashboard or Directnic Hosting Console password.

Display Name: The name you want to appear on outgoing mail.

  1. Enter Server Type, Server Address, Port,  set Authenticate using and Logon user name for Incoming Server Information with the following information:

 

Server Type: Directnic Hosting and Email plans support both POP and IMAP connections.

Server Address: mail.yourdomain.com OR webXXX.dnchosting.com, replacing the XXX with the server that your mail is being hosted on.  To find this information, log in to your Directnic Account Dashboard, navigate to My Services, select Hosting and click on the domain name that you are looking to check the server name for.  These can be used interchangeably.  The same server name will be used for both incoming and outgoing server names.

Port Numbers:  (POP): 110, (IMAP): 143,

Authenticate Using: Set to “Clear Text”

Logon user name: Your complete e-mail address

 

Enter Server address, Port, and select Requires authentication for Outgoing server information with the following information:

 

Server Address: mail.yourdomain.com OR webXXX.dnchosting.com, replacing the XXX with the server that your mail is being hosted on.  To find this information, log in to your Directnic Account Dashboard, navigate to My Services, select Hosting and click on the domain name that you are looking to check the server name for.  These can be used interchangeably.  The same server name will be used for both incoming and outgoing server names.

Port Number: (SMTP): 26

Requires authentication: Should be selected (checked).

  1. Click Finish to complete.   Congratulations!  You can start using your new e-mail account right away!
