How do I set up my email on an iPhone?

For a quick guide to setting up your e-mail account, click here .  Need a bit more help?  Never fear, we’ve got you covered!  Read on for a step-by-step guide (with screenshots!) on setting up your Directnic Email account on an iPhone running iOS7.

  1. On your iPhone, navigate to your Settings app.

     
  2. From the Settings tab, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars:
     
     
  3. From Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select Add Account:

     
  4. From Add Account, scroll down the list of providers and select Other

     
  5. From Other, select Add Mail Account:

     
  6. Enter Name, Email, Password, and Description fields with the following information:

    Name: Your Name as you want it to appear in outgoing mail
    Email: Your complete e-mail address
    Password: The password you created when you created the Email Account.  Please note that this is not necessarily the same as your Directnic Dashboard or Directnic Hosting Console password.
    Description: Whatever you choose – this is only used by you to differentiate between e-mail accounts configured on your phone. ( We suggest entering the e-mail address here as well )

    Once you have the information entered, select Next


     
  7. Choose the Server Type, verify Name, Email, and Description.  Directnic Hosting and Email plans support both POP and IMAP connections.  Scroll down.

     
  8. Enter the Incoming Mail Server Host Name, User Name, and Password:

    Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com OR webXXX.dnchosting.com, replacing the XXX with the server that your mail is being hosted on.  To find this information, log in to your Directnic Account Dashboard, navigate to My Services, select Hosting and click on the domain name that you are looking to check the server name for.  These can be used interchangeably.  The same server name will be used for both incoming and outgoing server names.

    User Name: Your complete e-mail address

    Password: The password you created when you created the Email Account.  Please note that this is not necessarily the same as your Directnic Dashboard or Directnic Hosting Console password.

    Once you have entered this information in, Scroll Down.



     
  9. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server Host NameUser Name, and Password:

    Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com OR webXXX.dnchosting.com, replacing the XXX with the server that your mail is being hosted on.  To find this information, log in to your Directnic Account Dashboard, navigate to My Services, select Hosting and click on the domain name that you are looking to check the server name for.  These can be used interchangeably.  The same server name will be used for both incoming and outgoing server names


     
  10. User Name: Your complete e-mail address (Note: Your iPhone marks this as Optional, but it is necessary for Directnic Email accounts)
    Password: The password you created when you created the Email Account.  Please note that this is not necessarily the same as your Directnic Dashboard or Directnic Hosting Console password. (Note: Your iPhone marks this as Optional, but it is necessary for Directnic Email accounts)

    Once you have entered this information in, select Next.

 

Congratulations!  You can start using your new e-mail account right away!
