What is a URL Redirect?

URL redirection (also known as URL Forwarding) sends web traffic from your domain to an existing web page. We offer two types of URL redirection:

  • Redirect with iframe – With this type of URL Redirection, you will achieve the domain masking effect. When a visitor accesses your domain, your domain name will display in the address bar of the visitor’s web browser instead of the URL the domain redirects to. This redirection type is not SEO-friendly.
  • Redirect URL – This is known as a 301 redirect. It lacks the masking feature and the URL that the domain redirects to will display in the address bar of the visitor’s web browser. This redirection type is SEO-friendly.

Note: If you are redirecting your domain to a Facebook or Youtube page, please use the “Redirect” option to perform the redirection. Facebook and Youtube do not support masked redirections to their URLs.
