How do I upload files using an FTP Program?

To upload your site using an FTP program, you will need the following:

FTP Username/Password: This is the same as your username/password to your Directnic Hosting Console and is emailed to you after purchasing a hosting plan.

If you do not know the Username/Password, follow these steps:

  1. From within the account, point to 'My Services' tab and select "Hosting" from the drop-down.
  2. Click the primary domain of the Hosting plan to bring up the Hosting or Email plan details page.
  3. Your login information is in the 'Account Information' box on the right.

FTP Server Name: This can be found by following the instructions above regarding Username/Password but looking in the 'Hosting Details' box on the left. Please note that this is sometimes referred to as your hostname.

Path: For your primary domain name, this will be /public_html. For any addon domain names, this will be the Document Root set during the configuration of the addon domain name. The default Document Root for new addon domains is currently /<addondomain.tld> but older plans may still use /public_html/<addondomain.tld> instead.
