Why am I seeing a max defer and failures error?

Your outgoing email is failing and you are receiving the following "bounce" message from your email server at Directnic:

"Domain has exceeded the max defers and failures per hour (5/5 (100%)) allowed. Message discarded."

What does this mean?

The error message you're encountering indicates that the domain in question has reached its limit for the number of emails that can be deferred (i.e., temporarily rejected) or failed to be delivered per hour.

The specific limit here is 5 emails per hour, and 100% of the emails sent from this domain in the past hour have either been deferred or failed, thus hitting the maximum allowed limit. As a result, the email system has discarded the message and it will not be delivered.

This type of rate limiting is used by email systems to prevent spam and maintain the stability of the email infrastructure. If you're the owner or administrator of the domain, you may want to investigate why so many emails are being deferred or failing and take steps to address the underlying issue.
