How do I transfer a domain name to another registrar?

Preparing a domain for transfer to another Registrar is a very simple process. The only steps that need to be taken at Directnic are to retrieve the domain's auth code then unlock it. Thankfully both functions can be found on the same page - the domain's details page. Click on the green Start button and follow the provided instructions to have our system send you its auth code via email. Then flip the toggle beside Domain Lock to the left to unlock it.

Once you have done both, simply provide the information to your receiving Registrar so they can start the domain transfer. The whole transfer process takes 5 days to complete and is completely processed by your receiving Registrar. Once the domain is in Pending Transfer status on WHOIS, you simply need to wait for it to autocomplete.
