How to Export / Import Existing WordPress Site to Your Hosting Plan

To export Your Wordpress.com Content to Another Blog or Platform, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your Wordpress.com Account.
2. Go to “Settings” on the left side Menu.
3. Click “Export” on Site Tools Options.
4. Select “EXPORT ALL” If you want to export all the contents in your wordpress site. Otherwise, you can click on the drop down selection and select a specific post or content you want to export.
5. Save your exported files locally.

 

Import:

1. Log in to you WP admin page.
2. Go to “Tools” and click “Import” in the drop down selection.
3. Click “Install Now” on the Wordpress option.
4. After installing WP Importer. Click on “Run Importer”. This should take you to another screen where you can upload files.
5. Upload the exported files you have recently saved locally.

*Keep in mind that some default ready-to-use plugins from Wordpress.com (e.g. Jetpack plugins) may not work in your hosting plan right away. You will need to install these plug-ins manually.
