How do I transfer domain names between Directnic accounts?

Changing ownership on a domain name to another account at Directnic also known as "Domain pushing". It is a simple and free service that does not extend your domain name's registration.

How do I push a domain name?
  1. Log in to your Directnic Dashboard.
  2. Select "My Services" in the navigation bar.
  3. Click "Domains" in the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the name (not the checkbox) of the domain that you are trying to transfer.
  5. Under Ownership, select "Change Ownership".
  6. Enter the Directnic username of the account you'd like to transfer the domain name to.
  7. Both accounts will receive an email with a link to approve the transfer.
  8. Once both accounts have been approved, the domain will be transferred to the new account.
Can I undo a domain push?

No, once you push a domain name to another account, it cannot be undone.

Will hosting services associated with the domain name be transferred?

No, hosting services associated with the domain names will not be transferred with the domain names. There is a separate process to transfer hosting plans here.

Is there a waiting period before I can transfer a new registration to a different Directnic account?

Yes, new registrations must wait 60 days before they can be transferred to a different Directnic account.

What happens after I initiate a domain push?

Both accounts will receive an email with a link to approve the transfer. The verification message goes to both the Registrant contact associated with the domain and to the email address of the Default Registrant contact selected in the receiving account. The receiving account can find out what their selected Default Registrant contact is by going to their Contact Manager here.
